Sourcing
How We Source
Vintage & Secondhand
A large majority of our vintage and secondhand pieces are sourced through a Canadian rag house bulk supplier based in BC. Watch our collaboration piece with CBC HERE to see more about our ordering, item processing, and how you can help reduce overconsumption by shopping secondhand. A chunk of our inventory also comes from people selling their clothing directly to us, a la buy-and-sell. DM us on Instagram if you're interested in selling your stuff to us. Occasionally, we also find gems the old-fashioned way — by hunting through garage sales and estate sales, closing-store buyouts, that sort of thing, but those are once-in-a-blue-moon. Every item in our shop was selected thoughtfully. We regularly repair and mend these garments prior to sale.
Handmade & Upcycled
Occasionally, we carry garments created and upcycled by our small team. All handmade and up-cycled items are made with secondhand or sustainably sourced fabric.
Jewelry, Sunglasses & Accessories
Not everything we carry is vintage. All of the jewelry we carry in-store is Venus Lemonade which is handmade and sourced. Although about 95% of our inventory is secondhand, some of our other accessories are purchased from wholesalers. These pieces are vintage-inspired rather than truly vintage, allowing us to keep things affordable while still being on-trend for our customers. We buy these items in small batches to avoid overstock and unnecessary waste.
